Their lives were poetry
elegant, metered and rhymed.
Then she entered his poem
and into her verse he climbed.

Meter’s graceful logic lost
rhyme giving way to abyss
to the free verse of love,
the chaos and charm
the epoch poem
of two lives entwined.
